Indian cuisine is one of my favorites, it is a perfect blend of all regional and traditional cuisines native to the Indian subcontinent. Indian cuisine consists of North Indian food such as Chole Bhature, Butter chicken and South Indian food such as Idli, Dosa etc. It is usually made of a mix of different spices and is flavorful and spicy in taste. However, when we move or travel abroad it might be difficult to find the authentic and tasty Indian cuisine that is available in India.  But don’t worry, in this blog I have highlighted top 5 Indian restaurants in Toronto that offer the best Indian cuisine. 

1- Leela Indian Food Bar-Dundas

Leela Indian Food Bar is one of the best Indian restaurants in Toronto’s downtown area. It offers a wide range of Indian dishes both veg and non veg with butter chicken being their specialty. The delicious food coupled with the pleasant ambience at the Leela Indian Food Bar makes it a perfect place to dine at. You can also reserve a table in advance and along with that there is also an option of VIP membership which offers  a variety of perks such as invitation of birthdays/anniversaries, invitations to cocktail evenings and many more.

2- Raj Mahal Indian Cuisine

It is an Indian restaurant which serves authentic and delicious Indian dishes such as samosa chaat, butter chicken, chili paneer, lamb biryani, and many more. The restaurant has a warm and friendly atmosphere, with modern and elegant design. They provide a variety of Indian meals, including vegetarian, non-vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free alternatives.

3- Maezo Indian cuisine

Maezo Indian Cuisine is located near the Sheraton and Hilton Hotel in Toronto. It is known for its modern signature dish which is Masala Macaroni apart from that they also provide some of the classic Indian dishes such as Indian curry, butter chicken with garlic naan, biryani, hara bhara kabab, gulab jamun and many others. In terms of the ambience it is warm, welcoming and comfortable. This restaurant has also started offering hand crafted Indian draft beer which is a must try if you are into alcoholic beverages. Lastly, they also serve Indian poutine as an appetizer which is worth trying.

Madras Masala is Toronto’s best south Indian restaurant. The unique thing about this restaurant is that they offer a wide array of vegan and gluten free dishes. As the name suggests this restaurant offers dishes that are made from fresh masalas and herb mixtures. They provide a variety of dosas, including egg chili dosa, cheese masala dosa, papri chaat, paper masala dosa, and many others. Despite being in the heart of downtown, this restaurant provides free parking directly on the premises.
